Introduction to Team: Approached by Dean, three years ago. I was introduced to the team whilst we were talking together. He asked if I’d like to help with the bike, rebuild it, a bit of fabrication, and of course race.

What do I race: GSXR1100 modified Suzuki.

Favourite Food:  Salt and Vinegar Chips, Timtams in my jimjams

Why did you get into it: Because I had spare time and I was asked to mechanic on the drag team.

What I get out of Drag Racing: A hell of an adrenalin buzz. Seeing all the bikes go through a weekend without any break downs. Socialising with Mates

The Best bit for me is: The first 60 feet of the race. Fabricating, having a weekend where nothing breaks down.

Where I want to go with my ride: Modify and do an 8 second pass one day. Possibly nos (nitrus-oxide).

What do you ride: SuperMotard DRZ400SM, Suzuki

What do you drive: Toyota Hilux Ute, reliability when it’s needed.

Final Comment:

I brought GSXR1100 as a write-off at Turners Auction. It was written-off because it had been dropped and the wheel had hit the gutter.  Sourced some parts from somewhere. Rebuilt the bike. I road it on-road for 8 years, then turned it into what it is now. Then a prime opportunity came to race it on the track. Stripped it down, made a tank, seat and rear guard. Solid mounted the rear end, made and mounted wheelie bars, shortened the wiring and painted it yellow. Flat square slick rear end.  Ready to race.
